Civil Engineering
About the Department
The Civil Engineering Department was started in 1914 along with the establishment of the institute. The department is running in two shifts with intake of 90 in First shift & 60 in Second shift. The second shift started functioning from the year 2010. The department is enriched with highly qualified and well experienced faculty ready to take challenges of mentoring the future Civil Engineers, who are fit to take any challenges in the field. Department conducts industrial visits & co-curricular activities for overall development of students. After completing this diploma students have opportunities to work as an Entrepreneur also.

To impart knowledge and excellence in civil engineering and technology with global perspectives to our students and to make them ethically strong engineers to build our Nation.
MISSION OF DEPARTMENT
M1. To produce civil engineers of high caliber, technical skills and ethical values to serve the Society and nation.
M2. To create competent professionals who are trained in the design, estimate, and development of civil engineering systems.
M3. To promote innovative and original thinking in the minds of budding engineers to face the challenges of future.
M4. To provide essential knowledge & skill to the students and enhance their employable potential and entrepreneurial capabilities.
Program Outcomes (POs)
1. Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
3. Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
4. Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
5. Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
6. Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
7. Life-long learning: Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.
PEO's
PEO1. To create civil engineering professionals ready for industry, government or other Organizations by implementing efficient civil engineering practices.
PEO2. To Make use of formal and informal learning opportunities to sustain and improve technical, Personal and professional growth and get various licensure.
PEO3. To develop professional skills and by using modern tools in civil engineering.
PEO4. To relate broad civil engineering education for effective communication of civil Engineering concepts orally and in written forms.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
PSO1: Construct, and maintain roads, bridges, irrigation structures and buildings.
PSO2: Use appropriate techniques to test the civil engineering materials.
