About the Department
The Department of Metallurgical Engineering is dedicated to producing competent metallurgical technicians equipped with strong technical knowledge, practical skills and professional ethics to serve industries and society.

To produce excellent, self-motivated, creative and ethical metallurgical technicians for industries and society.
Mission
M1. To impart high quality Metallurgical Engineering education and professional ethics to students.
M2. To adopt the best pedagogical methods in order to maximize knowledge transfer.
M3. To adopt mechanisms to enhance understanding of implementation of theoretical concepts in practical scenarios.
M4. To provide the best facilities, infrastructure, and environment for the students and faculty members, creating an ambience conducive for excellence in Metallurgical engineering education.
Program Outcomes (POs)
PO1: Basic Knowledge: Ability to apply knowledge of basic Mathematics, Science and Engineering to solve the engineering problems.
PO2: Discipline Knowledge: Ability to apply discipline specific knowledge to solve core and/or applied engineering problems.
PO3: Experiments and Practice: Ability to plan and perform experiments and practices and use the results to solve engineering problems.
PO4: Engineering Tools: Apply appropriate technologies and tools with an understanding of limitations.
PO5: The Engineer and Society: Demonstrate knowledge to assess the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues, and the consequent responsibilities relevant to engineering practice.
PO6: Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of engineering solutions in societal and environmental context, and demonstrate knowledge and need for sustainable development.
PO7: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.

PSO1: Select appropriate test method for inspection of castings and other metallurgical products.
