About the Department


The Department of Information Technology is established in 2001. Information Technology continually pushes the capability and applicability of computers in every industry and every facet of modern life.

The pass outs have opportunities to work as Customer Support Engineer, Programmer, Maintenance Engineer and Hardware Engineer in various sectors or companies like IBM, TCS, WIPRO, Persistent Software, Tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. Students can also start their own career in small software development firms or Hardware Maintenance firms.

Information Technology Dept. is Accredited in the year 2019 for 3 years by National Board of Accreditation.

Program Outcomes (POs)

PO1: Basic Knowledge: Ability to apply knowledge of basic Mathematics, Science and Engineering to solve the engineering problems.

PO2: Discipline Knowledge: Ability to apply discipline specific knowledge to solve core and/or applied engineering problems.

PO3: Experiments and Practice: Ability to plan and perform experiments and practices and use the results to solve engineering problems.

PO4: Engineering Tools: Apply appropriate technologies and tools with an understanding of limitations.

PO5: The Engineer and Society: Demonstrate knowledge to assess the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues, and the consequent responsibilities relevant to engineering practice.

PO6: Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of engineering solutions in societal and environmental context, and demonstrate knowledge and need for sustainable development.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

PEO1. To prepare students who have strong foundation in mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, laboratory and work-based experiences to formulate and solve engineering problems in Information Technology domains.

PEO2. To impart comprehensive knowledge with equal emphasis on theory and practice.

PEO3. To improve personality, induce team spirit and leadership quality among students and to promote cultural, social and spiritual values in all activities.

PEO4. To sharpen the problem solving skills to acquire competency for interdisciplinary problem solving and train them to excel in application or system development, system analysis and design, project management in areas of socio-technological issues like environment and sustainability.

PEO5. To provide quality education for making the students competent to enter into the Global IT World as well as in the field of Research.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO1: Formulate, simulate and use knowledge of IT domains to solve hardware and Networking problem.

PSO2: Code and test engineering problems using various programming languages and testing techniques.
